In 1995, at the "Costa delle Monache"
estate in Agliano, emboldened by the good results
achieved, we had our vineyards planted with international
grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet and others) so as to produce
blended wines.
With
the 2003 harvest, we decided to produce a new wine, called
"Le Monache" Monferrato Rosso DOC,
which is a blend of 70% Barbera, 20% Merlot
and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
It
is a wine that is fermented and refined in stainless-steel
vats for 6 months, and then bottled.
It
is a wine with resonant varietal fragrances and an elegant,
fresh and extremely well-rounded taste.
We
want ''Le Monache'' to represent a modern interpretation
of the Piedmont vineyard, with a pleasant and elegant
wine, easily matched to the widest range of dishes, at a
moderate price.
It
will come into the market in early April and will be
presented in our Burgundian bottle, with an innovative and
appealing packaging.
